	This is an educational support service for children from needy families. The educational sponsorship programme is Rs.6000/- for a year and it takes care of the child’s education, stationery and uniform. The progress of the child is reviewed regularly to help the student achieve a good academic record.

Our Objectives:
To prevent child abandonment. To preserve family by meeting their needs through community programmes. To prevent child labour. To conscientize people towards the significance of education. To encourage and empower girls towards education and promote gender equality. To promote the concept of small family norms.

Women In Crisis
This is a short stay shelter and rehabilitation programme for harassed and abused women and single mothers. They are counselled and given free medical care. Efforts are also made to rehabilitate them by placing them in suitable jobs.

Services

Family Preservation

When children are at risk of being separated from their families because of problems arising out of unemployment, vices, marital disputes, sickness or death in the family, Vathsalya intervenes and works with the family providing counselling services and psychological and financial support.

This is a long-term programme requiring regular assessments
